Military Family Life Counselors
The Department of Defense authorized the funding for several full-time Military Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) to serve the Beaufort County School District. Broad River Elementary School provides this service to our military families.
School MFLCs offer short-term non-medical counseling services to military connected children, parents, faculty, and staff. The MFLC counselors are at the schools to help and are available to talk to military students, facilitate group activities, outreach to parents and to process interactions and concerns, such as:
- Communication
- Self-esteem/self-confidence
- Resolving conflicts
- Behavioral management techniques
- Bullying
- Helping children deal with angry feelings
- Sibling/parental relationships
- Deployment and reintegration issues
The MFLC program utilizes professional, licensed and credentialed counselors.
If you are in need of assistance or would like more information regarding Broad River Elementary School's MFLAC counselor please call the main office at 843-322-8400.
