Dual Language

Hello! Hola! NiHao! 

We are proud to offer a Dual Language Program. Students entering grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade have the option of registering for our Spanish or Chinese Dual Language learning.

This offers the opportunity to study content standards in both English and Spanish or Chinese during the school day. The goal of this program, in its eleventh year for 2021-2022, is to graduate students who are proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in the target language.

In this approach to learning, students not only learn the new language, but their instruction in math and science is done in that language.

We are the only elementary school in northern Beaufort County to offer this advanced learning. Research shows that students who study in a second language achieve more in their other classes, now and into the future.
