Mrs. Dana Gasque

Dear Families,

Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten at Broad River Elementary!  I am so thrilled to be your child’s teacher and I know this will be an awesome year!  My name is Dana Gasque (Ms. Dana).  I have been teaching for over 25 years and absolutely love working with four year olds!  This year will be such an exciting one for all of us as your young student begins his/her school experience.

For your child’s journey to be successful, it is essential for me to understand that each child is a unique individual with special qualities and needs.  With the support of students and families, we will create a classroom environment that will recognize and respect individuality. The children will grow and learn at their own rate. I invite you to play an active role in your child’s education by talking with your child each day about their learning, reading together every night, and communicating with me J

I want there to be open communication between us.   If at any time you have a question, I will be happy to talk with you.  Either, write me a note, give me a call, or email me at dana.gasque@beaufort.k12.sc.us and I will try to respond as soon as possible. Mrs. Adams is your child’s other teacher/assistant in our classroom.  She does a wonderful job of keeping us organized and focused.  She is also an awesome teacher and you will enjoy having her as part of our team this year!  I want you to feel well informed throughout the year.  Each day your child will bring home his/her Everyday Folder.  Your child’s Everyday Folder will contain his/her weekly work, notes, and sometimes special projects. Please check your child’s backpack daily for important letters and notes. This can be a hard habit to get started, but well worth it! Thank-you in advance!!

As you were probably told at Child Find, home visits are usually done before the school year begins to allow us to meet you and your child and answer any questions you may have about the upcoming year. Unfortunately, I have not been able to do that this year. I apologize, but Mrs. Adams and I hope to meet each of you and your family individually soon. Home visits are so important to understand your child’s background and family home life. I look forward to setting these meetings up with you after the school year begins and things settle down.

                                    Sincerely,

                                                Ms. Dana Gasque
